Child Safety Standards

Applies to the MEO MATE mobile application and website, published by MEO MATE B.V.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

MEO MATE operates a platform that connects dog owners with one another and with pet-service professionals. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page outlines our standards, how we enforce them, and how anyone can report a concern to us.

1. Prohibition of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

We strictly prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. Specifically, it is forbidden to create, upload, store, share, solicit, promote, or link to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any format, real or digitally generated;
  • Any sexualisation of a minor, including text, imagery, audio, or artificial or AI-generated content;
  • Grooming, sextortion, or any attempt to establish sexual contact with a minor;
  • Trafficking of minors, or advertising, facilitating, or arranging child sexual abuse;
  • Any other content or behaviour that sexually exploits or endangers a child.

These rules apply to every part of the service, including profiles, listings, photographs, reviews, and one-to-one chat messages.

2. Our service is restricted to adults

MEO MATE is intended exclusively for users aged 18 or over. Creating an account requires the user to declare that they are at least 18 years of age. The platform is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly permit minors to register. Accounts we identify as belonging to a minor are removed.

3. How to report a concern

Anyone — whether or not they use MEO MATE — can report suspected CSAE to us:

  • In the app: use the report option available on user profiles, listings, and chat conversations, or contact us via the Support Pages in the app.
  • By email: support@meomate.com or madelief@meomate.com

Reports of child safety concerns are treated as our highest priority and are reviewed ahead of all other reports. You do not need an account to report to us by email.

4. How we respond

  • We aim to review reports of suspected CSAE without delay, and in any case within 24 hours.
  • Confirmed violating content is removed and the responsible account is permanently banned.
  • We preserve relevant evidence as required by law.
  • We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities, including the Dutch police and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the relevant EU authorities.
  • We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement investigating child safety offences.

5. Legal compliance

We comply with the child safety laws applicable to us, including Dutch criminal law, the EU Digital Services Act, and the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as the child safety requirements of the app stores through which MEO MATE is distributed, including Google Play and the Apple App Store.

6. Child safety point of contact
